The average cargo van is 224.1 inches long (from chevy's site) which is 5.69 meters.

The van looked to me ~ 1/3 the hight of the bridge from what I recall.

I wonder if Nolan had some math nerd to figure this all out?

I remember them talking about the special effects at TDK launch viewing I was at. They actually blew up parts of Chicago (roads, windows, etc) to achieve the believe effects. The funny thing is Hollywood can repair a that stuff (and a pothole) in a day -- unlike the local Chicago municipalities. They also staffed quite a bit of police and civilian forces for the project. Thus, it does not surprise me this movie is a mixture of digital and real effects. I think it goes to show there really is a certain je ne sais quoi to non-digital special effects.

It's not that we can't, we just don't care enough (the people, not the municipality) to do anything about it. It's like we accept that there's potholes all over the place cause of the year. no decade.. no that's not right.. the millennium long construction.

In Hollywood though, people the city wants to get that stuff fixed asap so they don't have to listen to all the rich people complain about their $250,000 car tires getting scratched.
